African Bird's Eye Chili



The Pili-Pili, African Bird's Eye Chili is the official name, is a Capsicum frutescens species (where the Tabasco also belongs to) is a small but very hot pepper. They grow all around Africa (also wild). This chili is known as the pepper for preparing piri-piri dishes. They are 1 to 2 cm long and 1cm wide. This easy plant can vary in length from 30 cm to 120 cm. The African Bird's Eye Chili is also widely used in Asian cuisine, is ideal for drying and for producing chili powder. In South America this chili pepper is know as Malagueta. Great for pots on the balcony.
